HTC Supersonic – New HTC cell phones
The HTC Supersonic cell phone come with the Snapdragon 1GHz processor, Sprint WiMAX, Android 2.1 and a 4.3 inch AMOLED touch screen. Beautiful device. I definitely can’t wait. Looks nice, but that is an awfully big phone. It appears this phone is made exclusively for Sprint. Now if I could just get WiMAX in my area this phone would be the phone to have. Actually, even with no WiMAX here I still want this phone!

I agree when are we going to see this phone hit the stores are at lease can we have a time span on when.i hope it’s going to be a good phone because the phone definitely has my attention but as did a lot of phones release by sprint did but all turn out to be not so good yes at&t has the best phones but sprint has the cheapest service i pray they improve on all the glitches that people complain about with the moment the hero and many other phones that lacked in some areas. i hope this phone can definitely stand up to the famous i-phone and some. because it would be a shame to release a good looking phone like this and it be garbage.been with sprint almost ten years almost lefted a few times if it wasn’t for there plans being cheaper then everyone elses i would have left a long time ago.still waiting for that one phone that has it all and operates with excellent proformence.

I cannot WAIT for this thing. I’m still using a Samsung m610 flip cuz all the “Smart Phones” are pretty bad. I’m hoping to benefit from the Droid features for my business. I kinda wanted a qwerty keyboard but I like the speed of this phone. If it’s too big, I’m going with the BBerry. Kevin with Totallycellphones.com

Just talked to the guys at my sprint store, who just had a meeting with the HTC rep. They said it should be here around June 10th. They told me that’s when all the new phones are released by sprint.
February 23rd, 2010 at 6:15 pm
Oh I so can’t wait until it comes I have been waiting for a new phone to come out. This may just be the phone that make me stay with Sprint instead of going to At&t just for the iPhone. I wonder what the price is going to be and whats the plans?
February 24th, 2010 at 7:20 am
I’m looking to make the jump from AT&T for three lines. However, I’m not going to get the Moment or Hero now based on promises that they’ll bump them to Android 2.1 soon. I won’t buy until either the Supersonic is available or the Moment or Hero have proven 2.1 updates in place. In the meantime, AT&T still has a chance to come out with something better to keep me…

March 1st, 2010 at 9:12 pm
coming summer 2010… im a life long sprint customer. love the service hate the phones. All the great phones passover sprint and go to other carriers… iphone, nexus one, htc desire, moto droid…. the supersonic although it feels like drinking RC cola instead of Coca Cola will be my pick for my new phone this year. Reading this page does give me hope. This website is the first to announce that the supersonic will come with a AMOLED display. other websites report a TFT display. This would be the biggest AMOLED display on a phone that i have seen. Which is going to make the phone pricey. At any price it will be mine pending dan hesse death and sprint opening up other phones.

The olympian/scorpian (samething) is not a phone if it was a phone it would be superdope but its a tablet pc and better than the ipad the supersonic is going to be the best phone sprint will have when they get it as soon as it comes out i am grabing one right away. Also i am an owner if a HTC Hero and cant wait for the 2.1 upgrade in a few weeks i can be patient, and i have not had one single problem with the phone i think some phones just suck i had 3 blackberry tours before i finally got one that was mint with no glitches if your looking for any computer system mobile or other wise and you think your not gonna have a few problems your dreaming so get over it. Also the iphone 4g coming to sprint i have sprint and love sprint and im an android man so even if it did i would still go with the Supersonic even tho its gonna be a sick phone but thats a gross rumor as of now the most likely thing i heard and its still a rumor is verizon who apple came to first for the iphone but they turned apple down.
March 2nd, 2010 at 9:54 am
Oh and maybe At&t is good where you live but if you look at actual coverage maps their service sucks bad and the iphone has been jamming up there 3g network really bad and when the ipad goes 3g expect some serious lagging, going to At&t just for the iphone is super lame im not an authority or anything but most of the bad things i hear about phones for sprint are lame childish remarks by people who dont really know that much about phones or some who just caught a few bad machanies the lamest thing about the moment is its a striped down barebones cupcake at least the Hero has Sense UI which is pretty cool and 2 or 3 weeks from now 2.1 will be good to go Sprint has the fastest 3g network and the 2nd largest in the US behind verizon by only like 3 Million people and Sprint roams data and voice on Verizon for free and they have the cheapest plans its a no brainer i believe most people who get an iphone just really get one to say “Hey guess what i have an iphone isnt it cool” not a hater or anything just sick of apple and at&t dick riding when there is not that a big of a reason for it.

Bry…. I have heard the roamers about the iphone coming to sprint with an amoled screen, 4g, 64 gb, video chat but don know if its true are when. I always carry 2 phones. One for work one for home. Right now i have a TP2 and a palm pre. But would love to switch to a iphone and supersonic. Can u confirm the iphone and release date? Or since u seem to be a sprint insider, does the supersonic have a AMOLED screen. Any info will be appreciated. I want to one of those people that say, “hey look i have an iphone isnt it cool.”
March 3rd, 2010 at 1:12 pm
I saw something tht said this phone will hit sprint sometimes this month dont know how true it is tho it should be pretty soon if not this month..And yeah all the ppl here sayin there going to go to AT&t just for the iphone plz dont make that mistake becuz i did that..And im already sick of the iphone after 5months..No insurance and no customization and high prices..Stay with sprint and wait for this phone to come out becuz its the biggest phone and it’ll be on android(google)who may i add makes the best and customizable phones…

Sprint, has good coverage, but not the fastest 3g. I have been with sprint for 12 years, most days I have to ask why. When you deal with their customer service. I keep trying to convence my self to stay with them each month. Haters, no their are people with real expectations for their cellular equipment and service. I recently purchased two touch pro 2 phones. Sold one because wife does not have patients to learn windows. Second phone failed after three months after an electrical issue. At a nearby Sprint store, the service tech attempted to help and made things worse by opening the screen and later panic when she was question about the phone. Attempted to clean the screen and introduced a liquid which cause total screen failure. Her solution was to wait a month and buy insurance for the phone. Never wrote a ticket until a request was made and never offered another phone solution, even if it meant buying one. Even after she was told that because of my position in law enforcement, my need for phone service before I left the store was imperative. I left the store remembering the smirk on her face as she knew her manager would not address the issue. I had to call sprint for help. That’s the kind of thing that is killing Sprint.

AMOLED SCREEN?????? its a buy if it does..
March 5th, 2010 at 10:09 pm
amoled screen will be epic if it does. love my hero but will buy this as soon as it comes out if true

I have been with sprint since I started carrying a cell phone over 15 plus years ago. They have excellent coverage and the quickest deployment of CDMA upgrades on their network than any other network, and always have. Not to say that I have not had dropped calls or issues, but none of my friends have sprint and listening to their complaints, I am glad I stayed with sprint and did not jump ship.
Regardless, I have started Anroid app development being a programmer, and one major thing I have encoutered with Android is the inability to manage processes that could consume processor time. I have a sprint hero and the phone is excellent as far as ability to customize and general usage. However, the phone slows down…period. It’s not the internals it’s the operating system. Faster processors will surely help, but not having the abilbity to manage processes hurts the operating system. In the end the Hero is a great phone and the Supersonic looks to be nothing short of fantastic for mobile media users. I can’t wait for this phone to show’s it face!

Curt,
You’ve been with the company for 12 years and you claim that the customer service is bringing the company down, but what do you have to compare it to? Have you been with any other cell company? Despite what seems to have been ONE unpleasant experience, with ONE representative that you can recall, I’d assume your overall experience has been satisfactory enough to keep you for 12 yrs. I apologize on behalf of that rep for your experience, because I am a fellow representative at a sprint corporate store, and customer satisfaction is a HUUUGE focus in the company. In fact, studies done by JD power and Assoc. has ranked Sprint as tops in customer service amongst the major carriers the last 2 yrs running.
On the phone itself, I can tell you right now this WILL be my next phone. As far as a release date, I don’t expect it to be available until at least May/June. Employess usually get a little bit of a heads up when devices like this are to be released, and I’m the only one in the store thats heard anything of it. June sounds more accurate in that it coincides with the timeframe the Pre was released last yr. Regardless, there is always something better on the horizon, so don’t be upset if you recently upgraded to the moment or hero, or you wait for the supersonic and something bigger and better comes out months later, thats technology for you.
March 18th, 2010 at 2:15 pm
so when does it comes out
March 18th, 2010 at 2:54 pm
THE IPHONE IS DONE..LOL
March 22nd, 2010 at 12:39 pm
I was with Sprint for years and switched to Verizon a year ago….biggest mistake ever! Verizon rips you off every step of the way and the service is horrible! Dropped calls, no service in many, many places and customer service is could be a robot as they are trained to simply quote statements from a preset list. I’m going back to Sprint where the pricing is reasonable. Sprint’s customer service can definitely be aggravating for sure but the pricing and service availability rocks! I never had a one dropped call with Sprint, with Verizon….I have dropped calls constantly and no service at too many locations to list!

I have left sprint for WOW Mobile and they are expecting Sprint on live as one of the providers but I left because I can now get my service Free when I refer 3 others and I did just that. Love the Nexus One except for the speaker it sucks. I want to give my husband an android on the Sprint network but I love my deal 89.95 for unlimited everything including data but when I refered 3 mine became free.

Hopefully it will be able to download Skype Mobile app, useable via WiFi. Otherwise…will wait till Sprint gets a Skype app or Verizon gets the new Iphone, and then will switch carriers.
