Now that we have a clear cut date on when the Verizon HTC Thunderbolt will be released (February 24th, 2011), the only thing left to find out now is a concrete pricing tag with contract. This time we’ve got a chance to offer you the info you are eager for: the HTC Thunderbolt is set to launch with a price of $249.99 under a 2-year agreement, or the unlocked price of $749.99.

Personally for myself, the full retail price is super expensive in terms of the fact the HTC Thunderbolt doesn’t come with a dual-core processor or the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread or a much higher Super AMOLED display, and maybe the market will embrace more awesome new devices in the coming spring and summer.

HTC Thunderbolt at Best Buy

Compared with the HTC EVO 4G device, both two smartphones delivered respectable 4G speeds and share a similar appearance, but the HTC Thunderbolt is more expensive than the EVO 4G. When considering the faster processor of 1GHz CPU and improved screen as well as a 1.3MP front facing camera, I think the Thunderbolt will be well worth the extra money. Well, to buy it or not it’s your own decision.
