New Sprint cell phones launch in July-September, 2011
None of this news excites me. Sprint announces that they are going to release a Nokia Windows Phone 7 device, or that they are getting the “iPhone 5″. I’d even be happy to hear that they are getting the Pre 3. Well, it does say Q3, so that means July thru That means the GS2 (Within) should arrive to Sprint no later than September! As a Sprint customer I would have loved to have seen some options outside of Android and Blackberry.
- Sprint Samsung Epic 2 cell phone- 4-inch display, single-core 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor, 8-megapixel camera, a physical QWERTY keyboard.
- Sprint Within cell phone (Samsung Galaxy S 2) – 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p video recording, front-facing camera, 21Mbps HSPA+ radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS
- Sprint Kyocera/Sanyo cell phone
- BlackBerry Bold Touch – 2.8-inch 640 x 480-pixel touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD video, .2GHz Qualcomm 8655 Snapdragon processor.
- BlackBerry Monaco – 3.7″ 800×480 resolution display, Qualcomm 1.2GHz Processor, 5MP Flash HD Video Recording (720p) Camera, BlackBerry 6.1
- HP Pre 3 – a 3.6-inch 480 x 800-pixel display, a Qualcomm 1.4 GHz MSM 8×55 processor, 5MP camera, HD (720p) video recording, front-facing VGA camera, 512MB RAM, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 8GB / 16GB of internal memory
I have had my EVO for a year now and it is working great. I don’t see a need to upgrade right now but maybe in a few months that would be the case. It is really great to see Sprint getting more high end phones out. I have always felt they are slim in that area. I think the Photon and EVO 3D will be able to keep Sprint floating.
