Hell no, Sprint needs to get the storm

Sorry but Sprint doesnt need the blackberry storm. The phone has shown to be problematic for many and a GOD for some
1. What it needs is to get its act together with its Nextel line of phones and completely change the standards of what they offer. Sprint really needs to make the IDEN radios standard in every new cellphone they bring on line along with a CDMA radio. If they would have found out a way to properly mesh these on to every phone that is released Sprint would have been a powerhouse. But that opportunity has passed due to poor mismanagement of both architectures during their shitty financial times.
2.What it needs to do is leverage some kind of a contract with Apple and start pulling off Iphone 4G’s. With every new type of device that comes out, I believe a contract is made with ATT. I dont think Apple was stupid enough to make contracts that say “EVRY IPHONE MADE WILL BE SOLD THRU ATT”. Negative, their has to be loopholes allowing them to leverage off to other companies to take advantage of other types of cellphone bands eg. wimax, hspda, so on and so forth. Sprint really needs to flash wimax in APPLE’s face like a stripper at a bar to really get something rolling.

#3,5,and 6 exactly ! I believe among with probably the rest of sprint customers that sprint is long overdue for a new phone line-up. Sprint and apple combining would be amazing. But as #6 said “I doubt that att would be stupid enough to make a line in the contract that says every phone has to be sold through att.” If the chances are that sprint, verizon,or other carriers would get the iPhone along with the rest of the companies line up during the year this industry can make unlimited fortune ! And alot of people who supports the idea can make money in the process as well…

the iphone is going to all the companies first verizon then tmobile then sprint

Andrew, Sprint did have the iden on their new phones 4 years ago with the powerhouse phones. However if your familiar with a phone they are dual mode which means when you do not have coverage you roam, when sprint made the powersou8rce phones they added iden but took away the roaming feature therefore diminishing the availability of cell use. If a triple mode phone was possible then that would work to have sprint, roaming and iden capability. But the power source phone wasn’t a fly. So they are back to keeping the 2 (CDMA-iden) separated.

It is certainly disconcerting when you go to a Sprint store and ask about the launching of the Tour2 no one seems to have the foggiest idea. One associate told me yesterday “we won’t be carrying it”. How can this be true? Say it ain’t so SPRINT!

you know what Joseph? i seem to find the same problem,…NOONE seems to know when this phone is coming out. even when you google it,.most of the articles are from 09. smh wtf

I’m about to switch to Sprint next week, leaving At&T. I really want the new BBerry Tour 2! Any one hear when? Some blogs say April to May? Of course no one at Sprint has any clue.

well unfortunitly i am here to stick up for sprint. i do beleive with what all of you are saying but i also dissagree. maybe if everyone would give it some time and stop being impatient then it will be out sooner than you think. and also if you have to complain on what sprint is doing then you should switch. why complain when you can make it easier on your selves and sprint by switching services. maybe that is a better solution.

the reason Sprint employees don’t tell you a launch date is because customers tend to hold us to that date. why would we put ourselves in that position? if you worked on that end and had customers yelling at you daily because one rep said a date and you are going by the rules and not giving it out then you would understand.. also 9 times out of 10 employees are only given a month or a quarter when a particular phone is launching. if a manufacture has issues and delay the launch employees at the store are the first to get yelled at and there is nothing they can do about it. i agree with reniya, if you are that unhappy with Sprint, switch and do us all a favor.

The new BB TOUR essex will launch in late 2010, probably august or september. Sprints cycle for new releases is always at the end of the year after all of their blow out sales. They do this in hopes of their customers (like me 5 years and counting) will use their upgrades on already existing phones, and not be able to get a good discount. You have to do your own research when it comes to these things. Sprint is NEVER EVER going top tell you when their new phones are coming out because they want to make BANK! It’s the way of the world people. They have to make money somehow. Im glad I’ve finally caught on. I’m due for an upgrade but am holding on to my 8330 until the Tour 2 comes out. They couldnt fool me this time!!!LOL

Amy I agree I’m waiting for the BB Tour to come out to upgrade. I love my BB 8330, it’s been a great phone.
