The Sprint LG Optimus S cell phone looks a lot like the Droid Eris. The Optimus S isn’t as bad as as it looks. For an entry level phone, $49 is a great price. It’s nice to see them rolling out phones, even ones on the cheaper side, just to give the consumer more options.

The Sprint LG Optimus S cell phone has a 3.2-inch HVGA screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, a 600MHz processor,  256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, Android 2.2 Froyo and micro-SD card slot. Also features Mobile Hotspot capability supporting up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices to share the 3G experience simultaneously and Sprint ID. Sprint ID is actually pretty cool. Just checked their website for a look and I’m pretty impressed with their attempt to make Android simple for ALL users. The Optimus S will be available for Less than $50 from Sprint Beginning Oct. 31.
