Verizon is a quality company, I have no complaints with them. But Sprint is cheaper.

engadget reviews the Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630:

Pros:

• the keyboard feels spacious and comfortable
• a high resolution 480 x 360 screen
• BlackBerry Tour has two versions: with camera and without
• a cleaner UI, a more extensive smiley collection, and functionality to send your location using the built-in GPS.
• the built-in GPS chip seems to be unlocked, meaning that it will work with third party apps. Verizon has gotten a lot of flack in the past about the decision to lock it down only for VZ Navigator

Cons:

• the screen itself seems to be incredibly sensitive to pressure
• The Tour is quoting 5 hours of talk time and 14 days of standby which seems to be about right.
• Not WiFi – if you like to travel abroad, and wifi is really irreplaceable in some of the more rural, remote, less industrialized

RIM would love to put WiFi in these devices, and it’s super-easy for them to do so. But Verizon has said no. Fortunately for all of us, this is supposedly changing in coming months.

The BlackBerry Tour pictures looks very nice! In my opinion. I think Sprint BlackBerry Tour of this Tour looks better to the eyes. The lighter chrome finish on the edges/sides compliments the glossy black finish,and gives it a more modern Blackberry feel/look to it. I really can’t wait for Sprint to have it… But the Verizon BlackBerry Tour is great too….

The Verizon BlackBerry Tour looks amazing. Can’t wait, looks beautiful! Really the best Berry screen there is! From BGR review: “The screen on the Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 looks great. It really looks like a plasma display with a glass lens over it. Colors are rich, sharp, and images are crisp” I can not wait! This has been the phone I have been looking for. What a beautiful design. Congratulations Verizon and RIM!

The Verizon BlackBerry Tour without camera phone is now available on Verizon WebSite, new customers can pre-order the BlackBerry Tour 9630, that existing customers can upgrade to the phone on July 12 2009.

Why we need a no camera phone? Beeve Said: “I work for a contractor for the US Army. The facility I work at is on an Army depot. Here we are subject to searches. upon entry and egress. NO CAMERA PHONES! Which is rediculus. There is very little one could do with a camera there that would be a security concern. Outdated rule. So long 8830!”
