The Samsung Instinct HD cell phone can playback and record 720P video on the device- hence its HD moniker. It outputs via a built in HDMI port. The Instinct allows photo and video playback on an HD capable auxiliary device but it does not provide HD playback directly on the handset. It still does playback of HD streams on the device the screen is just not HD resolution aka it’s downsampling it. The point is the device has the processing power to handle HD streams which is exactly what I said- thus you don’t need to reencode video.

The Samsung Instinct HD does look impressive though. The HD has better specs than the hero. Its more of a multimedia phone. The Samsung Instinct HD will be here soon on September 22 for $99 to $149 on contract form Sprint.

The Sprint Samsung Instinct HD cell phone will has a 3.2-inch screen, , improved browsing and a 5-megapixel camera, enhanced visual voicemail, simpler texting. New Sprint Phones – Samsung Instinct HD has a built in mini HDMI port, from what I’ve heard at meetings about it. It’ll be out September 27th. Anyways, I believe Sprint/ Samsung is calling it the “Instinct HD” Because it records video in high definition, and can play back high definition content. What would be really cool is if it could play high definition content onto an HD TV. Although by high definition I am sure that it only records/ plays in 720P, rather than full 1080P. But honestly, for a phone that is amazing! It would be the first phone in the United States that records in high definition. Definitely a consideration for my next phone!

The Sprint Samsung Instinct HD looks like a Palm Prem, it really is that simple. The Samsung Instinct HD cell phone is no full-featured OS, no accelerometer. I am excited to see what this phone will bring to the table. The HD is angled a little differently in some parts, but I’ll still throw in another vote for a similar to Pre design. New Sprint Phones – Samsung Instinct HD features include a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera and the capability to record and play HD videos. Hopefully the instinct HD video will look similar to the Omnia HD. And Samsung does need either a dedicated software team, or jump on the Android Bandwagon. I’m guessing Samsung will release thus and then make a better phone next month, release that,and continue their product cycles.

The Samsung Instinct HD looks more like the Instinct s30 than the original. New Sprint Phones – Samsung Instinct HD supports TV OUT, cool! Samsung smartphones are often innovative, sexy and tempting. The Sprint Samsung Instinct HD features include 5 megapixel camera & camcorder to record and play videos in HD through TV out connection, WiFi capable with Visual Voicemail, corporate calendar and web browsing, instant access to social sites– Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube. I don’t understand the point of TV out unless you get to take your own TV shows from your computer and put them on this.
