LG Intuition coming to Verizon with 5" 4:3 aspect ratio display

Last modified on August 26th, 2012, Posted on August 22nd, 2012

The new Verizon LG Intuition ( Optimus Vu ) is basically a copy of the Note except that it has a faster S4 processor. Also, the aspect ratio on the phone is horrible and LG’s UI isn’t something to brag about either. But, if it were less wide, we’d have a pretty good phone.

I would be interested in trying one of these just to see how well 4:3 works on a phone. As it is it is a really unique device not unlike the Note when it first launched

LG Optimus Vu International available in September

Best phone to read books on!, the LG Optimus Vu is an even wider phone to make it look like I’m carrying around womens’ pads in my pocket..4:3 just doesn’t work for a phone. Works for a tablet, but not for a phone. If I were to guess, it might be that Tegra 3 is a lot cheaper then the S4. though the S4 is cheaper then a Tegra 3 + LTE radio.

LG Optimus Vu 5" 4:3 screen coming to Verizon

The new LG Optimus Vu could do well, especially if its cheap (which its likely to be). and people on verizon who want a note size phone might be interested in it.

Of course the 4:3 ratio has its advantages. This is no secret. If one wants to write a text or read something, 4:3 has always been better than widescreen. But it looks odd. Widescreen looks more modern, therefore it sells. Try buying a 4:3 screen, or laptop.

I think having a phone that wide will turn a lot more people off than having a 5.5-inch with 16:9 aspect ratio. Makes the phone seem huge when it’s 4:3.

I like it. But not as a phone. The new LG Optimus Vu 5” Android phone would be a cool thing to win from somewhere and use it as a media device. Verizon must really be desperate for something like the galaxy note. Looks like a nice phone, If its real, and if it’s running 4.0 then it will sell reasonably well. People do like having devices that are different. But the 4:3 aspect ratio means that most apps will not work on it.

LG Optimus Vu LTE coming to Verizon

Now I’m confused what Verizon is trying to get. LG Optimus LTE 2 now the Vu. This would be more compelling at this point being that it probably has an S4 and LG’s new Optimus UI 3.0. For the moment Verizon just has the largest and most reliable LTE network out there.

Gotta love VZW. We ask for a Samsung Note, and they give us a Vu!

LG Optimus LTE, LTE Tag, Optimus Vu with new Android 4.0 ICS

I’m glad it seems most/all of the android manufacturer’s are updating their phones. But I don’t think Ice Cream Sandwich will fix the Optimus Vu. There is a good reason nobody uses 4:3 aspect ratios.

BTW, LG G2X was due for an update last month but then LG moved the ICS update all the way out to the 3rd quarter. Maybe they’ve gotten their act together & will push ICS out sooner than after.
