The Sprint Samsung Moment cell phone and HTC Hero would receive an Android 2.1 update, Sprint expects to upgrade in early 2nd quarter of 2010. Android’s market share more than doubled over the holiday, 2.0 was the major Function update, 2.1 is the cosmetic one.

The Samsung Moment Mobile DTV cell phone has a antenna super long, the antenna is huge and ugly, yes, but that will be really amazing to have true TV on our phones, seems like it works pretty smoothly! it’s completely free for users. It’s OTA broadcast TV. I think it’s just an extension of regular ATSC. So basically free local broadcasts coming in on subchannels off the main stations.

The Sprint Samsung Moment cell phone just that faux-silver plastic on the top half, I’m surprised the Android devices have a horizontal aligned keyboard. I would love to see a model similar. New Sprint Phones – Samsung Moment has a physical keyboard, OLED screen, and 800 MHZ, that is quite good. I’m really liking the look of that keyboard. Seems like it would be comfortable to type on.

The Samsung Moment cell phone will be available online November 1st 2009. The Samsung Moment looks nice but not nice enough to give up my g1 yet. The keyboard looks pretty dang good, I really wish the Moment came with HTC Sense UI. I have the HTC HERO for Sprint right now and it’s a really great phone.
