Verizon’s official press release has announced the LG Cosmos set for an "November 18th" launch. With a common design, the LG Cosmos is not eye-catching from the first sight and if you’re interested in this entry-level device, it will cost you $79.99 with a 2-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate.

LG Cosmos - New Verizon cell phones

The LG Cosmos slides out for a physical QWERTY keyboard and is a messaging device, which comes with a 2.8-inch WVGA touchwiz screen, 1.3MP camera, GPS, microSD card as well as a music player. Sounds like a basic smartphone, right? Here I just wanna present my discontent with the price of the phone, it’s too high for such entry-level smartphones with such low-end specs and features. There are so many smartphones right in line with LG Cosmos, just take its cousin Motorola Citrus as an example, it’s $30 cheaper than the Cosmos. Personally I think this device won’t be so competitive in the phone market.

Apart from letting you have an experience about the slide-out keyboard, Verizon will also offer you another comparatively high-end device with a Swype keyboard at the same time, that’s the LG Vortex. So you have two choices to choose from if you are among those LG and Android diahards.
